The TMSA Young Trad Tour 2009 is a showcase for the cream of the new generation of Scottish musicians - the 5 finalists and winner of the BBC Radio Scotland Young Traditional Musician of the Year Award 2009. As well as being highly talented solo performers, the sound they create as a band is energetic, dynamic and full of promise for the tradition they carry.
This prestigious award, which is organized by Hands Up for Trad provides a unique opportunity for young musicians to develop their musical careers.
The award takes place each year at the Celtic Connections festival in Glasgow and has now become an established and respected showcase for young performers representing the breadth of Scotland’s instrumental and vocal traditions. The Traditional Music and Song Association is proud to be associated with these young musicians at the early stages of promising careers in traditional music:-
